Virat Kohli steps down as a captain of Indian Test team

A day after the series defeat against South Africa, Virat Kohli has announced to step down as the Test captain of Team India.

Under his captaincy, India remained one of the top teams in world cricket. Under him, India won 40 out of 68 Test matches

Kohli took to Twitter to make this announcement. He had replaced MS Dhoni as the full-time captain in the 2014/15 season. He thanked BCCI, former head coach Ravi Shastri and MS Dhoni in his statement on social media.

Most recently, Virat had resigned from the T20I captaincy at the end of India's ICC T20 World Cup campaign. After this, the selectors also removed him as the captain of the ODI before the start of the South Africa tour.
